Requesting an Onscreen Demo Test

To request an onscreen demo test for use, either with the Pearson Onscreen Platform (LAN / Offline / Online) or the FS Digital Test Player, please create a case including the following information:

  • The date you would like to deliver the test(s)
  • The amount of tests required
  • Confirmation of whether this is to test the Pearson Onscreen Platform (LAN / Offline / Online) or the Functional Skills Digital Test Player

A Customer Service Specialist will confirm your request within two working days.

Please note: Once arranged, a demo test can be run at any time from 00:00 to 23:59 on the date that it has been booked for.

Please click below to expand each section and view support:

Demo test process for Pearson Onscreen Platform (LAN / Offline / Online)

These demo tests run the same way as live assessments that use the above testing platform. Test walkthroughs can be found on the links below:

Demo test process for FS Digital Test Player

The demo tests run differently from the live assessment. As this is to test the installation of the FS Digital Test Player only, there are no data/task files to download and upload. A walkthrough of the demo test process can be found below:

  1. To locate the learner details for the onscreen test, log in to the Pearson Assessor Dashboard (PAD) via https://btecng.pearson.com/pqs.web.ccpd using your Username and Password:

If you have not yet been provided with login details, please ask your Examinations Officer to complete the relevant declaration form. Links to each webform can be found within the support index.
  2. Under the Bookings page, select the FS Digital Bookings tab to bring up all available bookings:

  3. Click the arrow to the left of the relevant order. This will expand the learner's booking:

  4. The expanded booking shows the Order and Learner numbers, which are needed to log into the FS Digital Test Player:

You will need to make a note of these numbers and store them securely so that only exam staff and test administrators can access them.
  5. To start the test, click on the FS Digital Test Player icon. This should be downloaded and set up on the desktop of each computer:

  6. Enter the Learner Number and Order Number to begin the test:
