Each booking created on Edexcel Online (EOL) requires an outcome. This can be a result produced after uploading a completed test, or a mark of absence to enable the system to permit a new booking to be scheduled. If a booking is created and an absence is not recorded, a new booking cannot be created.

*NB - A mark of absence can take up to 24 hours to be processed and as such a new booking cannot be created until the previous booking has been resolved. If you are unable to create a new booking, please ensure the absent mark has been recorded and 24 hours allowed. If you are still unable to create a booking after 24 hours, please create a new case so an Account Specialist can investigate the issue.

There are 2 ways to report an absence on the POP Classroom/LAN software. The first step-by-step process below shows how to use the Invigilator Dashboard to report an absence. The second step-by-step will show how to use the Administrator Dashboard to report an absence. Both of these processes require the appropriate steps to have been taken to download the test file, prepare the assessment and allocate the test to the invigilator dashboard.

If you are unsure how to do this, please see our video guide here or our in-depth guide documents for the Administrator Dashboard and Invigilator Dashboard here.

Reporting an absence (Invigilator process)

1. Use your Invigilator Username and Password to log in to the Invigilator Dashboard:

While in use, the Classroom/LAN software is actively connected to our test server, and therefore, a mark of absence is instantly recorded with Pearson.

Reporting an absence (Administrator process)

1. Use your Administrator Username and Password to log in to the Administrator Dashboard:

A recorded absence can take up to 24 hours to be acknowledged by Edexcel Online and allow subsequent bookings to be made.

If after 24 hours, you are unable to create a new test booking on Edexcel Online, please create a case so a Customer Services Specialist can investigate the issue.
