Which version of the Pearson Onscreen Platform do I need and how can I check which version is installed?

These are the current versions of the Pearson Onscreen Platform, you should always aim to be running the most up to date version to ensure that you can run tests successfully. Sometimes the versions will change due to updates we are making in the backend of the systems but if there is an update to the components that you use which requires your immediate action we will always send a communication to your centre.

How to check the version of software

You can check that you are on an up to date version of our software by doing the following:

Option 1

  1. Open the Start menu by hitting the Windows key and type 'control panel', then select Control Panel App:

  2. In the top-right of the Control Panel, make sure that 'View by' is set to 'Large icons'

  3. Select 'Programs and Features' in the list

  4. The rightmost column indicates the version number of the software. You can use this to verify that your Pearson Offline Platform, Exam Centre Service, Administrator Dashboard, Invigilator Dashboard or Test Player are up to date.

Option 2

If you are using Windows 10 and do not have access to the Control Panel, you can check the version using the 'Settings' app:

  1. Open the Start menu by hitting the Windows key and type 'settings', then select Settings App.

  2. Select Apps from the list
    Select Apps
  3. Click on the program you are checking and the version number is displayed below the program name. You can use this to verify that your Pearson Offline Platform, Exam Centre Service, Administrator Dashboard, Invigilator Dashboard or Test Player are up to date.
