You can switch the method by which you authenticate accessing your account. The following step-by-step guide demonstrates this process.

1. Log in and authenticate your account (using the existing MFA method) using one of the following Microsoft websites: 2. Click on your account icon in the top right-hand corner of the page:

3. Click on 'View Account':

4. On the Security Info tile, click on 'UPDATE INFO >':SPS method 3 ds copy.png

5. Click on '+', to add an additional sign-in method:

6. Click on the 'Choose a method' drop-down. 
Please do not pick the 'Security key' option, as this is NOT one of Pearson's supported methods for SharePoint (OneDrive).

7. Select the 'Phone' option, then click 'Add'.
Please note:
With the phone call option, this must be a direct number, so if you are only contactable through an extension/switchboard, please use the text message option.

8. Switch to the correct country code, then enter your number. Make sure you remove the first 0 from the start of the number.  
Choose which phone option (SMS/Text or Call), and click 'Next':

9. Follow the onscreen instructions; the example below used the 'Text me a code' option, enter the code, then click 'Next'SPS method 8 ds copy.png

10. A confirmation message will appear; click on 'Done':

11. When the second method has been added to your account, you can delete the no longer required option or keep both ways but switch to the default sign-in method.

Switch the default sign-in method.

1. Click on 'Change' under Security info:

2. Select the method you want to use going forward. Please do not select the 'App based authentication or hardware token - code' option. Pearson is not providing this method.

3. Once the method has been selected, click on 'Confirm':SPS method 12 ds copy.png

4. A brief message will appear confirming your default sign-in method has been updated: SPS method 13 ds copy.png

Delete the option that is no longer required.

Under the Default sign-method section, locate the method you wish to remove, and click on 'Delete':

Troubleshooting

Direct access to the myaccount website.

If you try to access the myaccount site directly, you will see this error message when trying to log in:

Once you have access to the myaccount page and try to follow this the 'Sign-in now' link:

This sign-in option will also issue an error message when you try to log in:
