You can switch the method by which you authenticate accessing your account. The following step-by-step guide demonstrates this process.
1. Log in and authenticate your account (using the existing MFA method) using one of the following Microsoft websites:
2. Click on your account icon in the top right-hand corner of the page:
3. Click on
'View Account':
4. On the Security Info tile, click on
'UPDATE INFO >':
5. Click on
'+', to add an additional sign-in method:
6. Click on the
'Choose a method' drop-down.
Please do not pick the 'Security key' option,
as this is NOT one of Pearson's supported methods for SharePoint (OneDrive). 7. Select the
'Phone' option, then click
'Add'.
Please note: With the phone call option, this
must be a direct number, so if you are only contactable through an extension/switchboard, please use the text message option.
8. Switch to the correct country code, then enter your number. Make sure you remove the first 0 from the start of the number.
Choose which phone option (SMS/Text or Call), and click
'Next':
9. Follow the onscreen instructions; the example below used the
'Text me a code' option, enter the code, then click
'Next':
10. A confirmation message will appear; click on
'Done':
11. When the second method has been added to your account, you can delete the no longer required option or keep both ways but switch to the default sign-in method.

'Change' under Security info:
2. Select the method you want to use going forward.

'Confirm':
4. A brief message will appear confirming your default sign-in method has been updated:
