UMS marks do not apply to Linear qualifications, which now use scaled subject marks and are awarded at qualification rather than at paper level. 

You can see an example of how scaling works below. We have also created an online Component Scaling Calculator to help you transfer raw marks into scaled ones for linear qualifications.

For an example of how to calculate scaling, refer to the tables below.

Table 1 shows the maximum raw, scaled and overall subject marks available for a hypothetical qualification:
