Learners can be topped up to a larger qualification as long as it's at the same level, allowing them to study additional units and the opportunity to improve their already-assessed unit grades.
It is not possible to top up from a BTEC First to a BTEC National as they are not at the same level.
A top-up can only be actioned for a learner who has completed their qualification and received a certificate number.
The learner retains the same registration number, pulling through the units already completed.
If the registration has remained unclaimed, you can transfer the candidate instead.
