Learners can be topped-up to a larger-sized qualification as long as it's within the same level, allowing them to study additional units and providing an opportunity to improve upon their already assessed unit grades.
It is not possible to top-up from a BTEC First to a BTEC National as they are not at the same level.
A top-up can only be actioned for a learner who has completed their qualification and received a certificate number.
The learner retains the same registration number, pulling through the units already completed.
If the registration has remained unclaimed, you can transfer the candidate instead.
