What is the Annual Quality Declaration (AQD)?
Completion of the Annual Quality Declaration (AQD) is required for UK and Channel Island centres delivering vocational qualifications.
The AQD is an important document for you to accept Pearson's updated Terms and Conditions of Centre Recognition and Qualification Approval.

Which centres need to complete the Annual Quality Declaration?
UK and Channel Island centres that offer any of the following vocational qualifications must complete the AQD:

- All BTEC - Entry to Level 3
- BTEC Levels 4 – 5 Higher Nationals
- English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
- Essential Skills Wales, Essential Digital Skills Qualifications
- Functional Skills
- Professional qualifications levels 4-7
- Self-regulated framework (SRF’s) levels 1-7
- T Level Technical Qualifications
- Work-based learning (WBL)

When is the Annual Quality Declaration available?
The AQD must be submitted between 1 September - 14 October* each academic year.
*This is a fixed annual deadline. If this falls on a weekend, centres may wish to consider the preceding working day, although submission will be accepted on the official deadline.

Who completes the Annual Quality Declaration?
At the start of each academic year, the quality nominee, acting on behalf of the head of centre, needs to complete the AQD via our online platform.
If the head of centre would like to complete the AQD instead of the registered quality nominee, this can be arranged by contacting Pearson. Please check they have an Edexcel Online account with a centre-based email address, which is a requirement for us to arrange access for them.

How do I access the Annual Quality Declaration?
Once live, centres can access the AQD via this direct link . The link will be provided in an email directly to the quality nominee and can also be found on the Quality Assurance web page. Please see: Quality Assurance: Annual Quality Declaration Login and Access FAQs.
Users can log in to the AQD using their Edexcel Online account credentials. These login credentials are case-sensitive.
Please note: the AQD is not available via Edexcel Online.

How do I know which sections of the AQD to complete?
All centres are required to accept the terms and conditions.
The work-based learning (WBL) and L4-5 Higher National declarations must also be completed by centres delivering these qualifications. If you are still unsure, contact us.
Edexcel Online Account Confirmation: This part of the form is intended as a reminder for the quality nominee to share the ‘Pearson Portal’ link with the head of centre to complete the Edexcel Online Account Confirmation by 14 October. Please see the relevant knowledge article for further details.

Is there a requirement to complete a separate self-assessment statement and terms & conditions?
No; all elements of the Annual Quality Declaration are in one place. This will include the updated terms and conditions and relevant sections supporting quality assurance activities.

I did not receive the invitation email to complete the AQD. What shall I do?
If you are the quality nominee for your centre, please check if you can access the AQD using this direct link.
Please allow up to 72 hours for access to be provided if your exams officer has recently updated your Edexcel Online user account. If you cannot access after this time, contact us for additional support.

If you are still experiencing log-in difficulties, contact us. Please note that centres should not create a second EOL account as this will cause a ‘Duplicate Email’ error message when attempting to log in.
