How do I create/manage/access programme templates within Pearson Progress?

Programme Template Management

  1. Check that you have the correct permission to create programme templates. 
  2. Check that you have qualification approval. If the qualification is not listed when you create a programme template, please log a query on the Customer service portal here.
  3. Click on ‘Programme Manager’ to view existing programme templates or click 'Create new programme template':

Creating a new Programme Template

  1. Follow steps 1-3 above.
  2. Select the 'Qualification type', the required 'subject' and then click 'Next':

  3. Click the required qualification, then click 'Next':

  4. Choose the qualification size, then click the 'Next':

  5. This screen is pre-populated with all the mandatory units for your chosen qualification, pathway and size. The green shaded bar shows the total Guided Learning Hours (GLH) required and is updated each time you add a unit. You can exceed the minimum number of GLH. Use the specification link provided to check that you have selected the valid rules of combination units for your chosen qualification. To view a unit within the specification, use the document icon to the right of each unit title. 
    Click the ‘+’ icon to select units to add to the programme template:

  6. To remove a unit from the selected units column, click the ‘-‘ icon:

  7. When all units have been added, click ‘Next’:

  8. Give your Programme Template a meaningful title (e.g. subject, pathway and qualification size) and click on the declaration that your chosen units meet the rules of combination for your BTEC:

  9. Click 'Save and finish' or ‘Save and Create Course’:

Deleting a programme template

  1. Click on 'Programme manager':

  2. Locate the Programme Template you wish to delete and click the 'three dots' icon to the right of the template title, click 'Delete':

  3. Confirm you wish to delete, by clicking 'delete programme':
