Test Window

Remotely invigilated onscreen tests using ProctorExam are available to take within a four-hour window. This window starts one hour before the scheduled start time of the test and ends three hours after the scheduled start time of the test. For example, a test booked for 12:00 can be taken at any time during the window of 11:00 to 15:00 on the date of the scheduled booking.

All other Pearson Onscreen Platform (POP) tests are available to take within an eight-hour window. This window starts four hours before the scheduled start time of the test and ends four hours after the scheduled start time of the test. For example, a test booked for 12:00 can be taken at any time during the window of 08:00 to 16:00 on the date of the scheduled booking.

All tests, remotely invigilated or otherwise, can be booked for any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, please note that we are only available to provide real-time support from 08:00-17:00 Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.

Availability to Download the Test Package

  • The test package is created 96 hours (four calendar days) before the test date and time, including weekends. For example, if you log on to Edexcel Online on Wednesday the 10th and schedule a test to take place on Tuesday the 16th at 09:30, it will become available to download shortly after 09:30 on Friday the 12th.
  • For tests booked less than 96 hours (four calendar days) in advance, the test will be available up to two hours after booking.
  • Once a test is available to download, you can download and complete all preparation steps (download, activate, allocate Rooms and Invigilators etc.). The only part that is time-restricted is actually sitting the test, which can only be done within the eight-hour window.
  • Remotely invigilated tests must be booked at least seven days in advance. Other onscreen tests must be booked for a time that is at least two hours in the future.
