Logging into EOL accounts using multi-factor authentication (MFA).

We have now introduced additional security to Edexcel Online, using Multi-factor authentication (MFA). This is a further measure to protect user, centre and learner data. For detailed information,  including downloading the app to your mobile device and using it to complete the sign-in process. Please see Pearson Portal Authenticator for details.

With the introduction of MFA to EOL, all centres can only have one user per Edexcel Online account; hence, with additional security measures Pearson has in place, it will supersede JCQ ICE regulation 4.5, which states, "Email accounts used for secure material access must belong to named individuals or be a group email account accessed solely by individuals authorised by the head of centre to handle secure materials."

Q: What will happen with my EOL account?
A: Your account will remain the same. Centres can now directly create, amend and delete exam staff accounts on Edexcel Online, as long as a user has the 'centre admin' permission ticked on their account.
Q: Can I still delete non-active accounts?
A: Yes, permissions to delete inactive accounts remain available to examination staff.
Q: Can I still create other staff accounts, e.g., Teachers, Quality Nominees?
A: Yes. You will still be able to create and edit non-exam administration accounts.
Q: Are there any new EOL accounts that can't be managed in the centre?

A: If your centre requires any amendments to Head of Centre (HOC) accounts within EOL, please complete the Head of Centre form. You must already have access to EOL to complete the form. Once the form has been submitted, Pearson will call to verify the account and the required permissions.

Pearson will continue to periodically review accounts, including those which you have confirmed as being required. If any user with the above roles has not been active on our platforms within 12 months, they will receive an email from us to advise that they have 28 days to log into Edexcel Online and retain their account. If the user does not log in within 28 days from receipt of our email, their account will be deleted from our systems. The email that users receive will come from eie.admin@edexcel.com with the subject line “Important: Edexcel Online Account Inactivity Notice - Action Required”  Please ensure that this email address has been added as a 'safe sender' by your centres IT.

Dear Colleague,  
It looks like you haven’t logged in to your Edexcel Online account for over a year. As part of our commitment to keeping your data secure, we regularly review inactive accounts and will remove any that aren’t in use. Read our email here if you missed it.

What do I need to do?

If you still need your Edexcel Online account, just log in within 28 days of receiving this email. That will show us your account is still active and shouldn’t be deleted.

If you don’t log in to Edexcel Online within 28 days of receiving this email, we’ll delete your account. Please note that any data stored in the associated Edexcel Online mailbox will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered

If a user has been deleted but you need them to be reactivated, please contact us to reinstate their account.

Q: I need a new EOL account created but don't have access to do this?
A:  If you require a new exam staff EOL account, please speak to your existing Exams staff. As long as a user has the 'centre admin' permission ticked on their account, they can create an account for you. 
Q: I urgently need an account creating?
A: Should you require urgent support with creating a new account, please speak to one of your existing Exams staff. As long as a user has the 'centre admin' permission ticked on their account, they can create an account for you.

Q: I urgently need a change to my account?
