Arrangements must be processed and approved before an examination or assessment, no later than the published deadlines as below; otherwise, we may not be able to fulfil orders.

These dates are set by JCQ and remain the same every year:

  • October - International A Level series - 28th August
  • November series - 20 September
  • January series - 4 October
  • May/June series - 31 January

You do not need to have made your entries before applying for modified formats, as the entry deadlines are after the modified deadlines. If at a later stage the paper is no longer needed because the student is not going to be entered, you can withdraw your application on Access Arrangements Online (AAO) and/or Pearson Access Arrangements Online (PAAO).

International Centres
The above deadlines apply to all international centres. If you are an International centre, please make all modified paper applications via Pearson Access Arrangements Online (PAAO). For guidance on using PAAO, please use the following article Modified Papers: Making Applications.

Functional Skills On-Demand
Functional Skills (FS) papers must be ordered well in advance of the exam. Depending on the modification needed we require a minimum of 4-8 weeks’ notice for Level 1 and 2 Functional Skills and for all Entry Level Functional Skills we require 8-10 weeks’ notice. The exam must be booked before you place your order with us.

Each modification takes a considerable amount of time and goes through an extensive quality check process, so please make every effort to order them on time. We will do everything we can to fulfil all late orders, however, we may not be able to provide question papers in a different format if we receive your application after the deadline.
