Q: How are the ESNI qualifications assessed? A: Assessment summary is available below:
Application of Number | ESNI Application of Number is an externally set and externally marked assessment by Pearson. It is a paper-based exam, and on-demand for your convenience.
Assessments booked are available with 14 days notice. These can be run at a time to suit the centre and learner. This follows the same process as paper based on-demand assessments for Functional Skills English and Maths.
Assessments stay live for 5 days. | Communication | ESNI Communication is split into the following two components:
- a combined reading and writing exam, which is externally set and marked
- an internally set and marked speaking and listening assessment that is externally verified
The reading and writing exam is paper based and on-demand, the same as Application of Number.
The speaking and listening assessment is externally verified by a Pearson Standard Verifier (SV). An SV will be allocated to your centre in the Autumn term, who will arrange with you to verify a sample of learners’ completed assessments. If this sample is approved, the qualification will be granted Direct Claim Status, allowing you to claim the certificates of learners who have passed the qualification. |
