How long must centres retain their completed Functional Skills assessments?

FAQ
Banner text reads: Functional Skills Retention Period for Completed Assessments

Centres must retain completed Entry Level and Level 1 & 2 English Speaking, Listening and Communicating assessments and all associated quality assurance records securely until:

  • standards verification and any required sampling activities have been completed
  • your Standards Verification Report confirms that the programme, or specific learners, have been released
  • certificates have been claimed and printed for the learners concerned.

This includes:

  • completed and marked assessments
  • internal verification feedback provided to assessors
  • records of internal verification meetings
  • internal verification feedback forms
  • Standards Verifier feedback reports
  • assessments and supporting evidence submitted to the Standards Verifier.
Please note: If your centre receives a Limited Release outcome on your report, you must continue to retain all assessment and quality assurance records for learners whose certificates have not been released. These records may be required for future standards verification and sampling activities.

Once the quality assurance process has been completed, the certificates have been released and printed, these records are no longer required for Pearson quality assurance purposes.
