Learners must achieve all components to receive full Entry Level Functional Skills certification. Please see Edexcel Online: Reporting Entry Level Functional Skills Achievement for how to make a claim.
Deadline to claim certificates
For this academic year certificates must be claimed before 31 August 2025.
Certificates will only be released after external standards verification is complete. If the external verification has not taken place, centre marks for learners will still be accepted, however, learners will not receive certificates until external verification has been completed. After external verification, you'll receive a Standards Verification Report indicating which certificates can be released, please see the table below for details.
Standards Verification Report outcomes explained
External Verification outcome
|
What this means?
| Yes | The centre has met the minimum sample requirement for programme release. Direct claim status (DCS) is given and certificates will be released automatically until 31st August. | No | The centre has consistently not met their action points, or the SV is not happy to release the samples they have seen. Certificates will not be released. | Limited release | The centre has not met the minimum sample requirement. Only the learners specified in the Standards Verification Report are released. | N/A | No samples were seen for this qualification and level |
Each programme level is verified and released independently, so you may achieve DCS for some levels whilst others only receive Limited Release.
Deadline for external verification
External verification for this academic year must take place before 31 July 2025. External verification requests after this date will be considered on case-by-case basis.
