Accessing Entry Level Assessments
You can access the live test papers for Entry Level Functional Skills Mathematics and English Reading and Writing on our main qualifications website under Secure Tests. You will need your Edexcel Online username and password with SDS permissions to download secure content to access the test papers. The Assessment Record Sheets for Reading and Writing are contained within the 'Assessor' subfolder when you download the materials from Secure Tests, alongside the Mark Scheme.
Contextualising Entry Level Assessments:
- Entry Level Functional Skills assessments can be printed no earlier than 2 weeks before the live assessment is due to take place to allow time for contextualisation.
- A range of live papers with different topics are available, and the assessor may view them to choose one which is best for their learner(s).
- Assessors need access to the Guidance for Assessors document and the controlled assessment tests to decide whether contextualisation is needed.
- Please note: Exams Officer must be present at all times when assessors are handling the papers.
Speaking, Listening and Communicating Assessments
Centres devise their own Speaking, Listening and Communicating (SLC) assessments in line with Pearson's guidance, please see the following article for more information Entry Level Functional Skills: Speaking, Listening and Communicating Assessments. The Assessment Record Sheets for Speaking and Listening are available on the 'Forms and Administration' section of our FS qualification page under 'Resources'.
Centres must comply with the guidance regarding the security of papers as set out in Instructions For the Conduct Of Controlled Assessment (ICCA) document.
