Effective from 01 August 2025, the following terminology will change as outlined in Annex B of the Apprenticeship Funding Rules 2025-2026 document:
- Apprenticeship Assessment will replace End-Point Assessment
- Assessment Organisation will replace End-Point Assessment Organisation
- Gateway to Completion will replace Gateway

Yes, after the apprentice is Approved for EPA - you can request a date for the assessment of your choosing (subject to assessor availability) using ACE360's booking tool.
Using the built-in booking tool functionality in ACE360 allows for greater flexibility which also gives training providers visibility of each stage of the assessment booking process. This is shown visually by monitoring the booking dashboard.
As a minimum, Pearson requires at least five days notice period for scheduling an assessment (from the date the booking request is submitted). This is to ensure IEA (Independent End-Point Assessor) availability. Furthermore, it is dependent on the apprenticeship standard, where some require additional lead time, for instance, Data Analyst, Healthcare, Pharmacy Services Assistant, Sporting Excellence Professional, and Sports Coach.
Furthermore, for any apprenticeship standard which includes a multiple-choice test component - you can use the booking tool to select this component in ACE360 or use the webform for paper-based versions of the multiple-choice test.
