Gateway refers to the requirements that need to be met in order for the employer to put forward their apprentice for EPA. It ensures that all apprentices have completed the mandatory aspects of the occupational standard and any work that underpins specified assessment methods and that employers believe an apprentice is occupationally competent at the point they enter gateway.

*green represents that the apprentice has successfully entered and moved onto another stage in the EPA journey; whereas orange indicates the current stage of the apprentice's EPA journey
 

ACE360 StatusDefinition
In TrainingApprentice records have been added to ACE360 - no gateway evidence uploaded.
Gateway in ProgressApprentice records with one or more pieces of gateway evidence uploaded.
Gateway Evidence CompleteApprentice records where all required gateway components have evidence uploaded.
Denied EPAApprentice records that have had gateway evidence reviewed by the Lead IQA or a member of the EPA Delivery team and it has been rejected for a specific reason. Please refer to the rejection notes for details.
Gateway SubmittedApprentice records submitted by the training provider/college to Pearson for gateway review. Awaiting the Lead IQA or a member of the EPA Delivery team to review and provide an overall decision.
Approved for EPAApprentice records that Pearson has reviewed and accepted gateway evidence have been accepted. Apprentices are deemed to be ready for their EPA.
EPA in ProgressApprentice records with one or more pieces of EPA evidence uploaded. For example, knowledge test results.
EPA Evidence CompleteApprentice records where all required EPA components have got evidence uploaded.
EPA FailedApprentice has unfortunately been unable to meet all the KSBs (knowledge, skills, and behaviours) required to pass their EPA.
EPA PassedApprentice has successfully met the minimum required KSBs (knowledge, skills, and behaviours) and has passed their EPA.
