A BTEC registration number is a unique candidate reference; learners must only have one registration number for all assessment results on each respective course.

If a learner's results have been reported/spread across two different Pearson registration numbers, our system will not automatically combine these when making a claim, and the learner will be ineligible. To resolve this, please complete this Centre administration Merge request form.

When completing the form, please select your request type (see guidance below). We will then merge the achievement on both records, ensuring the candidate results are under one BTEC registration number. This form can apply to BTEC Security qualifications, if the previous achievement was attained through Pearson. However, we cannot merge unit results onto a registration on a ‘refresher’ course.

Please note: A merge does not include results achieved with different awarding organisations. This would follow the Recognition of Prior Learning process, please refer to the RPL policy and process document available on our website for further information. For BTEC Security qualifications, If the unit(s) have been achieved with another awarding organisation please raise a case via the Customer Service Portal requesting the units to show as achieved on the learner’s EOL registration. You will need to include:

A PDF attachment of the certificate showing the units already achieved. The file name of the PDF certificate must include the learner’s registration number for the current qualification the title of the unit(s) in the current qualification the learner is claiming exemption for. 

Types of Requests

  • Registration Merge Copy - if your candidate has a new registration and you would like the achieved external assessment results to be copied across to the new registration. This option should be selected when you have an externally assessed unit that is available on multiple qualifications. Internally assessed units should be claimed using Edexcel Online.
  • Registration Merge Delete - if the candidate's registration is being deleted but has external assessment results that need to be moved onto another of their existing registrations. This is for externally assessed units only. Internally assessed units should be claimed using Edexcel Online. 
  • Transfer of Results - if a candidate has sat the external assessment against the incorrect registration number and the result needs to be moved to the correct candidate's registration. In some cases, we may need further information to understand how this has happened. We may come back to you for this, and this could delay the request being completed.

 

Once the form has been submitted to our Customer Operations team, they will aim to resolve your request within 5 working days.
