To receive your results via EDI, centres are required to download a 7B basedata file.
7B files are called “entries” files - through these files; you can “enter” candidates to receive their results via EDI (hence results files). 7B basedata files are received via Edexcel Online; the below video demonstrates requesting the basedata file.
Please note:
- At the time stamp 0:08, the video instructs/shows you to select the BTEC qualification from the drop-down menu; this menu has recently been updated. Please ensure you select 'BTEC & Functional Skills'.
- At the time stamp 1:09, the video states the basedata will be sent to your Edexcel Online mailbox within two hours. The basedata file is now delivered within two hours to the email address registered on Edexcel Online.
You will then be able to import the basedata into your Management Information System (MIS) and create your own Results Entry 7B results request file for the learners you need results for.
To ensure that results in August are correct, learner details in the Results Entry 7B file must exactly match the current learner registration details.
If a learner has been transferred between programmes (for example from a Diploma to a Certificate) after the original 7B file has been submitted, you will need to send Pearson a new file with the updated details.
Please note: Even if you send us a 7B file, you still need to make a full award claim for each learner on Edexcel Online.
Submitting a 7B file does not replace centres making claims. It simply informs us which learners centres have or will be making full award claims for each summer series. For example, if you send us a 7B file but still need to make full awards claims for the learners, the information in the file will show each learner's grade as a Q (pending) grade.
The 7B Results file is for overall award results only. Results for external assessments are only available by EDI file if the test bookings were made via EDI. |
